You haven't stopped in a long time.
Not really. Even when you're still, your mind is somewhere else — replaying, planning, bracing for the next thing. Your body has been carrying it all without complaint. The grief, the pressure, the weight of just keeping it together. You've gotten so good at holding it that you've stopped noticing how much you're holding.
This page is for you.
Several months ago, this was me. I was referred to a skilled practitioner to help release tension — and he was good at what he did. But that wasn't what I needed. I was carrying so much grief, so much emotional load that my body had simply refused access. No technique could reach it. What I needed wasn't someone to work on me. I needed someone to just be with me — to hold space for my body, for whatever was living in it — before anything could begin to shift.
That experience is why Moon Waves exists the way it does.
What we've learned is this:
The body doesn't release on command. It releases when it feels safe. When it finally trusts that it won't be pushed, forced, or rushed — when it knows it's allowed to feel whatever it's been keeping quiet — something shifts.
Sometimes that shift is subtle. The breath deepens. The muscles soften. A heaviness lifts.
And sometimes the body does something that surprises people.
When the body finally lets go
Some people experience tremors during a session. Shaking. Waves of movement that seem to move through the whole body on their own. It can feel strange, even alarming, if you don't know what it is.
It's your nervous system completing a cycle.
The things that couldn't be expressed got suppressed instead — stored in the tissue, held in the breath, locked in the jaw and the hips and the shoulders. When the body finally feels safe enough to access them, it moves them out the only way it knows how. This is not something going wrong. This is your body doing exactly what it was designed to do.
We don't make this happen. We can't. What we do is create the conditions — the safety, the presence, the unhurried space — for the body's own intelligence to take over.
We are not healers. We are facilitators of healing. The body already knows the way. It just needs permission.
If any of this sounds familiar — if you've been running on empty, carrying more than you can name, or simply haven't felt at home in your body in a long time — you're in the right place.
